The poem is set in post 9/11 New York and its a close observation of organic life and refuse on the undergrownd. The speaker is hidden below the surface of the city gathering momentum to emerge.

Grand Central folds like an accordion and extends a few meters. The text is silkscreened and the images are copper plate etchings.

About the author

About the author

Rodrigo Rojas, born in Lima 1971, is the author of four poetry books.
His poems and translations have been included in different journals of Mexico, South Africa, Peru and the United States. His translations of native nations poetry have been published in anthologies by Jerome Rothemberg, such as Barbaric, Vast & Wild (Black Widow Press, 2015).
Since 2003 he has pushed his poetry into the visual arts, developing a series of hand made artists books. His latest exhibitions are “Sagital” in 2018 and “Fabrica Liber” in 2017, both in Santiago.
He studied engraving and printmaking in Universidad de Chile, Museo Solidaridad Salvador Allende and now he collaborates in Taller Cyan, a collective of print artists.

He is a graduate of the NYU Mfa program, where he studied with Derek Walcott, Sharon Olds, Elizabeth Alexander and Philip Levine.
Currently he coordinates the Catedra Abierta Lecture Series in homage of Roberto Bolaño, at Diego Portales University, Chile.
