Alturas de Macchu Picchu is a collaborative book in which the artist Guillermo Núñez illustrates the homonymous poem by Pablo Neruda.

he poem, written in 1945, was originally published in the book Canto General in 1950, with illustrations by José Venturelli. The present edition, supported by the Pablo Neruda Foundation, was published in 2008.

This edition of 30 numbered copies includes an original drawing signed by the author.

Guillermo Núñez (1930-2024) Santiago de Chile. Chilean visual artist. National Visual Arts Award 2007.

A multifaceted artist, throughout his career he devoted himself to different areas of creation, seeking points of encounter and integration of disciplines. He developed paintings, engravings, serigraphs, photo-serigraphs, installations, artist’s books and object art, with themes that refer to historical events, wars, disputes and personal experiences, which show and denounce violence and human destruction.
