What if we make an exhibition in Japan?
That was the question we had in our minds when we found out that we were on our way to Japan for the Tokyo Art Book Fair 2023. With this trigger began the development of what would be the pre-celebration of the 10 years of Naranja Publicaciones in this 2024: a mini traveling exhibition inspired by the retrospective Cuando escribo obras, mis manos piensan librosexhibition developed in 2023 in the Spanish Cultural Center, and of course, in Tokyo, where space is scarce for the number of people and buildings that inhabit it.
When I write Tokyo, I think in miniatures is the mini-exhibition that we took to Japan and that we were able to present both at the fair and at the bookshop and gallery UTRECHT in Tokyo, which was open to visitors from November 27 to December 10, 2023.
We share with you some photographs of the exhibition.
The exhibition includes a large part of the editions made in these almost 10 years of the publishing house in miniature format together with some works in miniature format such as the light stencil by El Cerebro by Guillermo Deisler and Sebastián Barrante’s Self-Portrait, a large-format frottage of a bed mattress.
