This publication by Rahel Zoller is part of our personal collection and has been specially selected for the October newsletter. Here are some details about this publication.
- Title by Author is a work that reflects on the book through the identification of its parts derived from the rules of editorial design.
- To do so, the technical names of each part are printed on its pages, replacing any trace of traditional “content,” thus turning it into a skeleton.
- Hence, the book is known as “Title by Author” or “Skeleton Book”.
- The book began circulating in 2011 through a Print on Demand platform called Blurb, although it can now be purchased via Edcat.
- The way Rahel structures the paragraphs using blocks of black ink recalls works such as Un Coup de dés jamais n’abolira le hasard (image) by Marcel Broodthaers (1969), among other similar cases.
